Default Cut off while driving

So I am sitting in the middle of the road in Kennesaw Georgia ... Was driving back from N.C. and all of a sudden, sputter sputter... Car engine dead. Vehicle has power to everything but just won't start back up. AAA on the way. Could the inertia switch of just crapped out on me? I've had it trip before when replacing a battery and it is acting the same way. I've tried to "reset" the switch but vehicle still won't start. The motor turns over but sounds fuel starved. No "Engine" light on nor fuses blown from what I can tell.

Ideas??? And how to tell if inertia switch is bad?

Many thanks

Hate to say it but it's probably the fuel pump. Get a test light and check for power at the pump plug as someone turns the key to position II.
