About my Disco 300tdi manual (may 1998) :

Part STC3313 doesn’t work anymore (fan only works now when fan speed controll switch is in stand 3 and 4).
My garagist offered me an enhanced replacement resistor for a Range Rover Classic (wow !), part Nr. PCR8010 from Atlantic British - roverparts.com.


But this part is in every way different from the STC3313 (shape, dimensions, position of the holes for fixing bold...).
Has somebody experience in such replacement ?
All advice is very welcome !

think you can get a new blower motor for around 50 pounds or less and resister for 15

 

Hello disco96sd,

My garagist told me that the original blower motor and resistor aren’t fabricated anymore. Nevertheless, on the web -and eBay of course- I saw still the STC3313 and enhanced derivaten products from other manufactures.
I’m more and more inclined to buy such part that really fits in all ways (almost plug and play!)

Hello,

After discussion, my garagist took back the RR-resistor and found finally an original STC3313 part with original packet.
On the old part you clearly saw the corroded contacts, the insulating foam that almost all had gone and the white block broken in many pieces.
Now I have again ventilation in the lower stands 1 and 2. Let de summer come !
