Default D1 wont shift into overdrive

So we went wheeling with the neighbor yesterday and i spent most of the time rescuing jeeps lol

when we went to leave i discovered that we were no longer shifting into overdrive, fluid is clean and not burnt , maybe a little overfilled

i can pull on the detent and it springs back into trans so thats not binding or broken any ideas?

we drove in alot of water, i was hoping for it to self resolve after sitting overnight but no luck, and when i left the house this morning it took a long time to hit 2 and 3 first time probbably close to redline then was fine after that

Trash accumulated in the valve body? I had an issue with my auto trans where it wouldn't shift automatically past 1st gear. Did a fluid/filter change with synthetic Valvoline ATF and it resolved the issue after a few miles of driving it hard. Did another fluid change a month or so later just to be safe and its been good for the last 4 years.

TOP hose is the pressure side post cooler. You could get it at the cooler, but it's far less work to go from the Top Rad hose.
Easy to just remove the top trans line (ESR3695) and fit a bit of hose with a clamp to it, or on the adaptor ( ESR1262 ) in the Rad.

On mine the fluid came out under pressure from top fitting on radiator not the top line

well filter and flush all new fluid and i still wont shift into overdrive , i tried messing with the shifter while driving with no change and im sure its not the detent

i put her in low range still no overdrive

this all started from me going wheeling, nothing even remotely challenging but i had to drive through alot of large trail puddles and pulled out at least 6 majorly stuck jeeps, i wad in low most of the time any ideas?

I did notice the detent cable actualy has a stop on the cable on the end by the engine, so the cable can only go so loose?

I see reference to a temperature switch that stops overdrive shift but im not sure if its a d1 or d2 thing, the switch in my trans line activates a warning light on dash when i jump the plug, thoughs?
