Default D2 Armrests on D1 Seats?

Has anyone heard of someone putting D2 armrests on D1 front seats? I'd just buy some D2 seats altogether and put them in but my leather is in super good condition and it seems a waste when all I really care about is the fact that the D2 seat has an arm-rest...

Don't think the arm rest mount is built into the frame on the that seat

You're not going to be able to install armrests on a DI without removing the upper skin and doing work to the inner frame. I don't even know if that's possible, but, stranger things have been done to these trucks. The easiest way, in terms of the swap, is to find a set of RRC seats that are in good condition. They'll have the armrests you want and will fit right up to '96-'99 DI seat rails. The problem with finding a nice set of RRC front seats is the expense. They won't be cheap.

Ah Paul that’s brilliant, I didn’t even consider RRC seats. Do you know if there’s a certain range of years where the rails match up?

Something from a '95 would be the most direct fit but you could make just about any model year NAS RRC work. If you go with a seat from a '95 you'll need to use your seat wiring harness because all '95's had seat memory and you really don't want to get into that headache. Otherwise, seat motors are the same as are the seat switches.
