Default D2 Headlamps
Are D2, early D2 headlamps an upgrade to the D1 set up?

Yes sir. Direct replacement for the D1 lense. I havent done it yet but ive heard the D2 has a better beam pattern then the D1

Hold your horses, http://www.roverlandparts.com/discovery-headlights.aspx
shows them as 2 different parts numbers/units.

yeah, I was talking about the 99-02 version, not the schmancy 03-04 ones.
My lights are ok, but, a wee bit of condensation in the right side.

plus I think I can get a pair on the cheap. so, that's cool too!

The actual lens is different but the housing is the same so they should work just fine.
