Default D2 lift on a D1

Can I use a 3" D2 lift on my D1 (discovery)? Anyone? Anyone?

....and on a similar theme, can a D1 lift kit be fitted to a D2?

Depends the weight you buy, HD 2" ome like mine has will over lift without the required static weight
Think its 150 lbs front 100 rear? More weight nicer ride awesome ride off road loaded down, I run bilstein, but OME shocks are supposed to be nice too

the shock mounting setup is different on D1 vs D2. front coils are prob the same, rears in a D2 i'd imagine are stiffer.

D1, D2, RRC, D90 all use the same diameter coil springs. They will all interchange with eachother. Some vehicles will see more lift from the same springs than others. D2 Resr lower spring perches are deeper than D1 perches. D2 owners often swap in the D1 perches to see an extra 1/2" of lift. There is pretty much nothing that can't be accomplished with some combination of springs, perches, and cheap aluminum spring spacers.
Shocks on a D2 are different from a D1 all around.

Thanks for the info. Fitting the D1 spring mounts to a D2 for an extra 1/2" lift sounds interesting because I'd like just a litle bit extra (it already has bigger tyres and I don't want to overdo it).

You may have to open up the two mount holes on the lower perches. Can't recall for sure. Nothing 2 minutes with a drill bit can't fix though.
