Default Defeating 'all' door locking feature

I've got a 96, no key fob, and I'd like for my key to just open the drivers side door. I drive it myself to work, no kids, so there's no need to open/unlock all of the doors constantly.

Is it possible to make it 'manual' and just take everything out of the loop? No alarm, no nothing?

You know, weird sh@t like 'When I put the key in my door, the door unlocks'. When I want to lock it, I just push the button down when I get out.

I have no need for alarms, or all of that other crap. I'd just like to be able to lock it.

Thoughts?

Possible, yes. It was done on my D1 by someone. Not sure what all is involved though, I've only had the rear door skin off, actuator is not hooked up to anything.

But, if you manually push the button down to lock the drivers door when you get out, it unlocks when you shut it. Still need to use the key to lock it.

See, I want to defeat that 'feature'. If I want to lock the door by manually pushing the button down, damn thing should lock. lol

i have no clue to the CORRECT answer......but just me thinkin out loud here...
if you unhooked the lock actuator......then.......in the the door handle linkage there should be a CAM(of some sort) that UNLOCKS the door when shutting it.......if you can locate that "CAM/PART" and file it down ......when door closes it won't BUMP it and unlock the door at close......hehheheheheh I THINK.....

96 is a GEMS ECU, so it will have alarm linked to ECU for immobilzation, exchange of a code, etc. Could be programmed off with something like a Nanocom or Hawkeye.

You could disable electric locking by finding the alarm ECU, locate pink wire on pin 3 of connector C274 and snip it. Then alarm unit cannot send power to locks.

Or you can unplug/remove the actuator in each door and you'll have manual locks. This requires removing the door cards, which is difficult, messy, and hard to do without breaking something.
