This morning I replaced my bad auto mirror with a 10" $13.99 auto parts mirror.
(mirror adhesive sold separate)

I followed the rave (for once) and fulcrumed down the old mount & popped it off the windshield bracket. (piece of cake)

I nipped the (3) wires (saved for something later?)

I soaked (Q-tips) the old base with nail polish remover, (repeatedly, forever)

Then I started tapping it with my sharp gasket scraper, it popped off after several minutes.

Then I cleaned and prepped with polish remover

And following directions (this time only), I mounted new one about an inch below top.

Seems like I picked up 6-10" of visibility, (joke), as the mirror is about 1" higher, with more adjustment range.

By the way, was the old mirror half full or half empty ?

 

The center 1/3rd oval was full, the outer 2/3rds was empty -- Magic?
