Default Did I bleed brakes right?

Just installed stainless brake lines so needed to bleed the brakes. Did the rear two first. My wife pumped the pedal until air sputtered out, then it slowed to a drip and the pedal became hard. She pressed the pedal and I tightened it halfway through the pedal push. When we did the front brakes fluid squirted out with each press, but never slowed to a drip and became hard to press the pedal like the rear, so I just tightened the bleed screw halfway through a pedal press. Does this sound right?

When I bled mine with the original brake lines I had steady flow with every pump of the pedal for all four corners. I tightened when the fluid was consistent and clear, it never dripped. .02

build pressure with a handful of pumps, have helper hold the pedal down after the last stroke, then open the bleeder while theyre pressing as hard as they can down.
close the bleeder once the pedal is bottomed out, then repeat.

also sounds like you had them pumping the pedal while the bleeder was open?

if you get one of the systems that builds pressure in the reservoir you can do the whole job on your own without touching the pedal... and it usually does a better job than manual bleeding

First, it takes 2 quarts of DOT to totally flush the system so my answer is no, you didn't bleed them right.
R/rear, L/rear, R/front , L/front. Pump the pedal 3 to 4 times, hold it down open the valve, let out dirty fluid, close the valve and repeat as many times as necessary at each wheel till you get clear fluid coming from the caliper.
