Disco 1 oil cooler line replacement question. Anyone use ROX ss braided kit?
Hello-
I need to replace my 1996 Disco 1 oil cooler lines. After doing a little online research I came across the ROX stainless steel braided lines that East Coast Rovers are advertising Defender owners switch to. I believe ECR and Trailhead 4x4 (In Ohio) sell ROX oil cooler line kits for the Disco 1s but they aren't cheap ~$290.
Has anyone installed these kits on their vehicle- comments?
Has anyone got a DYI solution to oil cooler pipe replacements or are the negative consequences (engine fire) not worth the risk?
My fall-back option is to just order OEM oil cooler lines from a place like AB, Paddock, Bearmach, Lucky8 etc....
Thanks-

The OE Oil Cooler lines are fine just go to Summit Racing, Jegs, etc and get some High Temp HEAT SLEEVE material.
There are many brands like Thermo-Tec, DEI, Vibrant Performance...just to name a few.
Get some with the highest heat rating, slip it on... and you are back to HAPPY TOWN!
The stuff is inexpensive and works very well to keep the manifold from ever cooking the hoses.
And one Headsup with the OE lines, be sure to check that the Orings are in place and NOT damaged BEFORE you install them.
