I hope your not trying to get that big twin air cleaner in the back ground to fit?

Got some goodies in the mail today! All that's left is the intake plenum gasket and water pump gasket. Should get here this week but I'll be back
home on leave in Texas.... Next weekend I shall be done! Lol.

Can someone explain this in plain ol' American? The cylinder head To and TQ procedure. Even asked my military mechanic friends and they weren't any help. I'm just a simple minded explosive technician... Lol. Thanks in advance.

OK 1st there is no plenum gasket that is for d2 with Bosch efi

Instal heads then that intake gasket in pic with lower intake, like a old school Chevy v8

Then fuel rail

Then instal lower plenum with trumpets, use hylomar sealer, machined fit

Then upper plenum using hylomar again

Hylomar is a blue goo, permatex sells it as something else, look in my 98 d1 thread towards end for pic of tube with pn#

As far as torque that is newton meter nm, use an online converter to ft lbs or inch lbs

I did heads as torque then sequence 90* , then sequence 90* to get the 180 they call for

I am sure you are doing oil pump gears, be sure to check clearence per manual think with feeler gauge?

Thanks. I was just asking about the head torque. I got everything else. What does the 90*/180* mean? I can Google the tq conversion for nm to inches.

May want to torque the sequence, then make a line on the bolt heads to be sure how fat you turn em, they get real hard to turn, another reason I did 90* 2x instead of the full 180 * in one shot, it becomes evident at this point why I said be sure to chase threads in block

Some guys swear by arp studs for this engine, bolts were fine for me

Thanks man. Yeah the sequence makes sense. Center then outwards in a x kinda pattern.
