Default Disco I 1998 Stuck in Park!

Looks like my Disco acquired the "Stuck in Park" Phenomena. Need some help guys.

Symptoms:

Won't shift Gears
Key Stuck in ignition
Brake Lights WORK!
Fuses appear good
No Codes

I have seen the suggestions to take the ignition solinoid out of the equasion. It seems as that the vehicle doesn't "understand" that it is in PARK. IS there a sensor for that? Perhaps the neutral safety switch cut out?

I saw a post by DiscoMike and Spike555 that looked promising but not sure what the outcome was. Someting about running a wire off the rear defroster to "short out the brake switch"

Default Update 1

So you can get the keys out of the ignition IF you pull the battery OR IF you pop the cover on the shifter and pull up on the shaft clip, you may need to jiggle the ignition solinoid. I order a new brake peddle switch in case this one is mostly dead but not dead yet and acting spotty.

Nothing allows me to shoft out of park. Damn it.
