Default Disco I actuators

Does anyone know if the door locking actuators are serviceable / repairable? - I have just had to replace 2 of them at the cost of US$400, ordered from the local Land Rover dealer here in New Zealand. As soon as I replaced them, a third one started working intermittently... So I wonder if the curse will continue until I have to replace all 5 actuators?

I'm not sure if you have Autozone or a sister company of theirs down there, but duralast(their in-house parts brand) makes an aftermarket actuator with a lifetime warranty for ~50-60USD if I remember right. I have 2 of theirs in my disco

Great advice, thanks. Yes, Autozone seems to be present in New Zealand. I'll try as soon as they reopen. Happy New Year.

That link to the spring was not the issue that you or I had been having. There is a thread somewhere that explains how to disassemble the actuator and replace the electric motor with one you get from ebay at 5 for 20 bucks.. you just have to cut off a part of the shaft to get it to fit into our actuators.
Sorry I do not have that link, it may be somewhere in the sticky links
