Default anyone been down this road - lock actuator

d1 #1 has slow, intermittent getting worse actuator on rear door.
d1 #2 works fine
piece from bone yard works fine

seems to have a cycle that gets sluggish and hard to move - indicating a dry/worn gear inside.

lock mechanism is smooth and unrestricted.

BUT no matter which one i put on the rear door it shows the same intermittent issues and is stiff to operate manually when out of sync with the other doors (normal?).

My suspicion is a weak connection or ground that is not allowing the full voltage to operate the actuator.

any ideas?

I thought it was a little spring that goes bad or goes missing that causes that issue. Someone was even making and selling those exact springs I think.

That would be a nice find.. Do you remember if that was inside the actuator? or located outside with the locking mechanism.

Thanks!!
