I was afraid about -15 overnight not being able to start my Rover..but why doubt..this sucker cranked over 5 sec later oil pressure light went out..i was like dang...stout ride

 

Thanx from all the great comment guys!!! to answer some questions my drive to work is only 11miles each way.

I'm very mechanically inclined as I build ground support vehicles for the aviation industry so that is not a problem.

I know the question I asked Is a very loaded question in that it's like asking who's better ford or Chevy it a personal preference, but from my research of come to notice that most LR owners have owned Both a DI & DII.

Here's what I Daily drive now which I build from the ground up! as you can see luxury and class is not why I looking for a LR, Guess I'm just getting older and what something more streetable but off-road capable. Will end up selling the beast and starting over with whatever I end up with.

Nice truck, but how much are they asking? It has kind of high miles, I mean anything is fair game after about 100k. Just be aware you may be adopting some pre-existing issues.

 

They want 5,000 for it! Which is just about the going rate for that year around here. also the dealership that it's at sell's ALOT of used LR's!!! I asked where they were getting them all from but all I could get out of them was "we have a really good inside line on them" so I'm assuming they have someone at the dealership down the road feeding them all there trade-in's.

 

Wow $5 and it's in Michigan where it's more subjected to salt.

I just got my 98 D1 with 147k and nearly brand new snow tires on it for $2950. So far it's solid and I love it. If the price differential is that much I'd consider moving to Colorado. The weather, mountains, and jobs are better here. LOL

I can say this because I moved out here from Ohio in 2003 and don't think I'll ever go back.

Thanx for the offer Goat but I need to finance the truck to build up my credit!! I'm a transplant to the states from Canada (probability explains the rover obsession, Stupid British upbringing) and with the new residency come having to start the credit game all over again!!!!!!

Look like is going to be the 98 i posted a link to earlier, going to the dealer tomorrow to give it the final look over and shake down..

I have a question about the colour of the truck, It's teal in colour was this a rare colour?? don't like I've ever seen another one like it

Don't know if it was rare or not, sorry, it's certainly more rare than white like mine! Anyway, I'm sure you can wrestle them down on price a bit, especially if you make a sizable downpayment. Just walk out if you're not getting the price you want, I've seen it work plenty of times... If you pay anywhere near $5,000, do a very thorough inspection (or pay an independent Rover mechanic for one) so you don't "double your investment" by dropping another 5 grand within the first year or two.

I'm sure you'll love it, that's the problem with Rovers. Just try to pick one that will love you back.
