Disco I winch plate
#24
Finally completed
Well... I finally got it all on there and working. Im pretty happy with it. It could have been an easier install than I made it. You don't really have to take the brush guard and bumper all the way off. The winch mount can be assembled in sections. Ill have to post pictures a little later - I ended up just mounting my control box to the brush guard. You could take the control box apart and mount in under the hood somewhere if you wanted though. I got all my parts from lucky8. They all were good and had most of the hardware. It looks like the mount was made well. - good welds, paint and just over all construction were very sound. Side note * this crap is heavy* - I was able to manage holding the bumper, brush guard, winch, and mounting plate all at the same time but im sure it was funny to watch. There are 2 mounting positions on the winch mount I got and I went with the slightly angled mounting option. The wiring was the time consuming part. You just have to get creative with routing. The winch kit didn't come with long enough wiring cables so I had to change those. I just got those at Oreilly. Now I just have to get a recovery kit (shackles, blocks, etc). Ill post pictures soon.
