Hmm, I got my brass rad fixed, rodded out and cleaned for $75.

Good find, if my ever does break to the point where fixing can't help I'll just buy a new brass one.

Its always the core design that makes the difference.

At the GATC great american truck show, US RAD had a display showing showing cooling effeciancy of older brass rad and new alum rad. While brass conduct heat faster new design of core in alumin always beat it.

My $232.00 rad has been in service for about 15,000 miles and it is still perfect as far as temp. Now I need to swap the front drive shaft but other than that MJ is running great.

re: Its always the core design that makes the difference.

The newer aluminum radiators available worldwide are 5mm spacing vs the previous 10mm, which allows more performance in a smaller package. Not sure this has made it to the Rover style AL radiators. Of course, as radiator tubes become smaller, or more numerous, the ability to become clogged increases and good cooling system service is important.
