took the wagon in for cert today, apart from a link that should be clamped with a seperate clamp rather than a nut and bolt it passed, Certifier was happy with the brakes, steering and handling, ride bloody nice, no bump steer, sort out this little issue and will get a compliance plate early next week,
then i can get into bull bars, and side bars

Cheers

That is absolutely awesome. Love the work you have done. So I was looking for a good fix on those rear door arches where they rotted thru. When you do yours, I hope you document that like you did so far. Love the effort and the results too. Great job.

Default 80 series up date

well been a few months and have done a few more trips in the vehicle, the suspension mods with the crusier gear has been almost faultless, no issues with rub, had a bit of a clunking coming from the rear end, so once i had actually done the swing arms bolts up tight the noise went away. the chinense lockers have worked very well, the front is a tad reluctant to come out but that is typical locker trait that even the arb can suffer from, the motor is slowly learnnig how to rev, was very sluggish when i got it, but the more i drive it/rev it the freer is becomes.
Now have a mega squirt computer sitting on the shelf and a old rover computer that i ahve butchered to get the computer plug, the grand plan is to make the megasquirt just plug into the rover harness, will need to run a couple of wires for the VR sensor and the coil packs. am sorta aimnig to do that in the next couple of months before xmas, i am looking to pull the motor and fix the oil leaks, replace the frost plugs as i think one is leaking and replace the rear main. and if i feel keen enough pull the heads and replace gaskets, if i am that far in i will also look at the camshaft and replace it with a lumpier version which of course leads to skimming the heads and perhaps a tickle up in the ports, got a few buddies who dabble in that sort of thing

i am going away in it for about 3 weeks touring the south island so want a leak free reliable truck.

Cheers
