I have taken on the task of replacing my center console in my 96 DI. I have looked around here(locally) for a sutible replacement. I found one I liked, its off of a 01 DII. Same color and everything (i think). The only difference is the size of the hole for the shifter to go through. Its looks as if the trim around the shifter will *just* cover it. Anyone have any experience with this?

 

I'd like to know too. My D1 console is pretty tattered and I don't really hope to find a nice 15 year old one.

 

You're going to have to cut some plastic to get the bezel that goes around the transmission shift illumination unit to fit. Otherwise, everything else lines up fine.
