Question Discovery replacement oil cooler lines too short?

Hi everyone,

Looking for some help on this one. I recently made a purchase from the UK and got some oil cooler lines (I didn't notice they were for a Defender according to the website I ordered them from) to replace my leaking ones on my 1997 Discovery V8. Different suppliers list the parts as Discovery V8 4.0 compatible...

I ordered parts:

Oil Cooler Pipe (Engine) V8 Part - PBP101150

Oil Cooler Pipe (Engine) V8 Part - PBP101160

Silly question time - Would Defender oil cooler hoses for the V8 be slightly different in length than for the discovery?

The reason I ask is that it appears that one of the hoses is literally a couple of millimetres too short. I seriously mean millimetres!

Is there a trick to installing them???

Thank you

I'm not sure if the customs tax would kill you, but this might be another option if you can't get yours to work: Trailhead 4X4 & Offroad

Thank you for the information. I was eyeing those for a while. I had to buy U-Joints, and some other parts... so perhaps next time

I am confused on one issue though. It appears that there are different oil cooler lines for the r380 manual transmission versus the automatic transmission.

Not every Land Rover parts supplier distinguishes this difference
