Oil cooler lines
Hey everyone! Long time since I've been on here, but I'm in the middle of a BIG move to California. Might just have to change my name...
Anyway, my wife is still back in New Mexico and took the '99 D1 in to see what it might need for the trip out here. One of the things I need to do is replace the oil cooler pressure lines. After looking at the parts online, they don't seem to be all that difficult to change out, but I will have limited tools.
What are the minimum tools needed to do this work? They're leaking, not badly, but leaking. I do want to get those changed out before the 1,000+ mile trip out here.
Oh... and please rate the difficulty of the repair. 1 = A five year old could do this, and 10 = you better be a LR expert mechanic with two assistants.

Which particular connections are leaking? Have you though of just replacing the o'rings and maybe using teflon tape on the connections? You just need the proper sized open ended wrenches and naybe some small sockets and extensions if you remove any of the brackets.
I don't know where it's leaking. I'm in California, and the Rover is back in New Mexico. All I know is that Rob From Southwest Rovers (shameless plug) said they are leaking and need replaced and that I could do the work to save some money... which is fine with me.
The BIG problem is that 99% of my tools are with me here and I won't be able to take them back on the flight (I drove my 26 year old Datsun Z out here). I can buy a few wrenches while I'm back there, but I didn't want to spend a ton on tools to get the job done.

The oil lines are about a "3" you will need to remove the grill and pull the oil filter but for the most part a large open end wrench will do.
I changed mine out about 3 years ago and mines a 96 so your is right on time.
