Default Do I have power locks?

This may be a stupid question, but there isn't a lock button in my '96 SD. The owner lost the key fob when he was mountain biking a few years back, and I'd like to buy a new fob. Is there any way that I can lock or unlock the vehicle via a button in the truck like most vehicles, or is that managed entirely by the key fob?

If I do buy a new fob, is there a way that I can program it myself? My Disco isn't tagged right now so driving it two hours away to Annapolis is not an option.

with mine all i do is either push down on the driver side lock and it locks all the doors and pull it up to unlock all of them. i dont think they came with a button like other cars.

I have a 96 and it has power locks. If when you lock your drivers door the rest don't lock, then the lock actuator on the drivers door is bad. It is different than the rest as it is the "master". You need a land rover specialist to program a key FOB if you get one.

Well pushing down on my drivers side lock doesn't lock the doors unfortunately. I'm not too worried about it but it's just one more thing to fix.

Yeah screw that, I don't need locks.

Might want to check with Paul Grant on this site to see if he has any. He sold me one for my back door; reasonably priced & worked great!!
