Default Alarm? Power door locks will not work from outside lock.

Hi, i have a 98 Disco LSE that the power door locks and alarm stoped working. Nothing happens from the key fob transmitter or if you put the key in the drivers door lock. If your in the ROVER you can still work all the locks by pulling up and down on the lock bar/pin whatever it's called. First thing i did was check all the fuses under dash as per owners manual, all good. Am i missing something? Thank you.

if the power locks still work I would check the key fob battery, the alarm ECU, and the inside of the drivers door key switch. I might also add that if the locks are still working (from the inside) installing an aftermarket alarm may be an easier/cheaper route if the problem is in the ECU.

I believe the signal goes from the key switch to the alarm ECU. In my 97 this is done with a blue/green wire. when the key switch is turned this wire should display ground. Other than testing this wire the rave manual gives this test for my truck.

BUILT IN TEST PROCEDURE
The built in test procedure is accessed as follows:
1. Starting conditions: ignition off, doors unlocked,
alarm disarmed, bonnet switch depressed.
2. Carry out instructions 3 to 7 within 2 seconds.
3. Release bonnet switch.
4. Switch ignition on.
5. Open driver’s door.
6. Switch ignition off.
7. Switch ignition on.
If alarm is correctly accessed, the horns will sound
briefly and the Theft Alarm LED and hazard lamps
will flash. The following checks can then be made:
Perimetric Testing
1. Open and close driver’s door or tailgate – Theft
Alarm LED and Hazard lamps will flash.
2. Depress and release bonnet switch – Theft
Alarm LED and Hazard lamps will flash.
3. Pull the driver’s door sill button up – Theft alarm
LED and Hazard lamps will flash.
4. Turn driver’s door key lock cylinder – Theft Alarm
LED and Hazard lamps will flash.
