My dome lights have not worked in nearly a year. I replaced them all with fresh bulbs and still nothing. I was looking in the fuse box, but I could not make heads or tails with Rover's symbology. The RAVE didn't help much either...

I checked just about every fuse anyway, but I just want to be certain before hunting down an MFU. Does anyone know the fuse block number for the dome lights?

 

Satellite fuse panel 2, fuse 6. Right next to regular fuse box. If lights work with on/off switch at the dome, then fuse is OK and MFU is toast. Getting to the MFU is a trial, it is on the back of the fuse panel. Inside is a transistor without a heat sink, this overheats, burns out, and no lights. Transistor is rated to handle 55 watts on heat sink, and about 1 watt in free air. Could you get one at Radio Scrap and replace it? Maybe. Mine melted a little hole in the case. I replaced dome and cargo lights with LED versions to drop current drain and not repeat that burnout, plus they are brighter so I can check my Depends or the map as needed.

IMHO many of these MFUs will fail over time if lamps not upgraded to LED.

 

Always check the continuity of the fuse...just cause it looks good doesn't mean it works.

 

I have no interior lights at all. Everything is dead with fresh new and tested (in another car) bulbs.

Funny you should mention LED... I replaced them with LED and they worked for a few days and then went out.

 

I would suspect the MFU in your case, if you can turn the lights on with the switch beside them. The switch and the MFU each supply a ground point.

It's the 20A fuse that is labeled with the symbol of a trailer. That is one of the few fuses I never checked because, well I thought it was something to do with trailers....

Anyhow, interior lights are up and running again! They will come in handy when we change the time back at the end of the month and I will be trust into perpetual darkness.

I have the same problem accept I also have only 1.2VDC at the purple radio power wire.

i checked satelite 2 fuse 6 and I have 12 volts on both sides of the fuse.

can someone help?

 

solved. Loose fuse, same as above... that’s a first for me...

 

A quick question slightly off point, if I wanted to fit led puddle light that needs a live feed on door open where would you recommend getting it?
