Door Lock Spring - mystery clip & door issue still
Hi everyone,
I ordered a door lock spring replacement clip kit from eBay, and replaced all five of the broken springs inside the locking/latch mechanism... an easy and cheap fix, but it does take time and patience... and cursing
With my two front doors I am still left with issues opening from the outside... the handles need to be opened quickly and forcefully in order to open the doors. Just in case someone mentions the actuators, they are fine, and I have replaced all of them and they work perfectly. Please check out the video for thoughts or suggestions as to what might be wrong.
On the passenger door I am left with a remaining mystery clip. Does anyone know where this clip goes or have links to a diagram?

re: the door handle, you need to adjust the linkage rod. There are two, one for the lock cylinder(short) and the other longer one for the handle. Once you get the door panel off spray the adjuster linkage with some wd-40 and have at it.

The clip has nothing to do with the door handle. It holds the exterior trim that is between the window and the door.
That clip fits onto the section that wraps around and secures on the inside.

OverRover - Thank you! Done, and done for both Driver and Passenger doors!
Abran - Thank you! I finally saw where that clip went. It is on the edge of the door that keeps that wrap around rubber under the window seal on the inside!
On the bright side, I was also able to fix one of my actuators where the butt connection had both wires fall out.
Two majorly annoying issues sorted out!

I had a similar issue with the 2 back doors as well as front passenger door, with your door open, try to push in the metal bar to "shut it" like it would if the door actually closed. if there is resistance, like there was in mine, just take a can of WD-40 and spray the crap out of the slot in the side of the door. The car will smell like WD-40 for a bit as it is sitting in the door until it evaporates, but you will have doors that are easy to open
