Double cardan and standard front prop interchangeable?
Anybody know offhand if the front prop shaft with a single u joint on each end and the double cardan are interchangeable? My '96 SE7 is equipped stock with th a double cardan which is vibrating badly at 35 and 60 mph. The steering wheel bounces up and down disconcertingly at those speed points and I fear imminent failure. I secured a used shaft with the idea of swapping it out while I rebuild the dc but it is the single u joint type. I searched but only found info for swapping a d2 dc into a d1 which seems to require the d2 output flange for the tc as well. Is the flange the same for both on the d1?
I should just got out and measure, but rolling around in the driveway in four inches of rain saturated snow isn't high on my list of fun things to do on a windy Sunday morning.
Also, if anyone knows the spicer kit # or individual part #s for the ujoints and centering ball offhand I would appreciate it greatly.

Well part #s require the make of the shaft. D1s did not come stock with a DC shaft. It's either a D2 or an aftermarket like a Tom woods. If it's a D2 precision 344 U-joints are what you want, not sure on the centering ball. Their is a write up on here about a D2 rebuild with part #s. If it's aftermarket then it depends on the make.
