Are you sure the fuel pump caused the 1178 code or maybe it was just coincidental.

Anyone want to bet on if it comes back or not. go for double ot nothing on that Million?

Well the fuel filter had a lot to do with it. I put the new pump on and left it all apart to make sure that it was running properly and by the second time I ran it there was so much back pressure that it blew one of the new lines I put on. Went ahead and did the fuel filter in the parking lot and so far the code has gone away. Drove it all day today with no problems. Knock on wood.

If you are using rubber hoses and clamps, expect some repeat issues.

No. They are the stock plastic ones that came with the new pump.
