Default Driver's Rear Window (Beating a Dead Horse)

To beat a dead horse, I rolled down my windows the other day and my driver's side rear window won't roll back up. At first the motor made noises, now it won't. I pulled the motor and tested it with a 12V connection, it works fine. I've tried swapping out the switch with another that works, still nothing. The other rear window operates normally. Would the window ECU with a bad solder joint just let one window not roll up?

Also, if I can't get this worked out, how can I get the window to stay up. My redneck duct tape is melting in the sun and can't hold the window up.

the ecu is a problem because the solder joints come loose especially from disconnecting the plugs. One front window can be effected or both backs yanking the plug with a suitable plyer makes more connections bad.

Resoldered most of the connections on the window ECU to no avail. Took out the regulator and motor. Motor tested fine on an alternate 12V source. Had to order a new regulator.

Other windows still work fine, I have tested a working switch on this window and still nothing. Will try the motor today to see if it will work in vehicle.

Check the wire going to the motor, no power when switch is pushed. Put in new regulator and used a lawn mower battery to jump the motor to roll the window up. Guess I won't be using that window anymore!

Sounds like you have a loose connection somewhere going to the motor. the ecu problem usually affect both rear windows. the common problems are the ecu, or the motor, or the regulator would have a bad guide bushing, which can be replaced with a cheap mod, or the switch. your problem seems more complicated. there's a rear windows bypass mod but not sure if that will solve your issue.

got the ecu i ordered on ebay and put it in. rear right window is still not working. pulled out and check motor/regulator and it seems my motor is on it's last breath. used a spare car battery to check and it's barely moving outside. when inside it just made a slight noise but did not move the window up or down. bought another motor/regulator unit from ebay and waiting to replace it. hope it will work this time.
