Not to beat a dead horse...
I have been going through the "three amigos" threads. I haven't found anything, yet, just like mine, though (maybe everyone says that). After my left front wheel bearing/hub assembly was replaced along with new discs on the front (the pads had lots of life left on them) the ABS light stays on. When I start the DII ('02) only the ABS is on. When I first try to take off, the traction control (?) tries modulating the brake pedal for about 3 seconds. When this goes away, THEN all three amigos announce their presence. However, at that point I can drive the truck without iterference from the computer with the brake pedal. If I turn the truck off and then start again, same thing. Only the ABS light is on 'til I take off and the brake pedal does it dance, again.
The mechanic who did the hub assembly replacement works on Rovers but doesn't have ALL of the computer equipment. He knows the guys at the Rover dealership (where the new parts came from) and said Ineeded to take it to them to clear the codes. As I said in another post, this is when the dealer looked it over for an hour and said I needed $4900 in work - including (specifically) a left front hub assembly and new front discs (both of which were less than one week old with only about 15 miles on them). I have all paperwork and the dealership's list.
I intend to try this ABS shutter valve (?) I have read about, first. Does this sound like it could cause that brake pedal modulation upon first takeoff?

It is doubtfull that that same hub went bad again in such a short time. Unless is was bad to begin with.
With the pads being new I doubt it is them also.
I am leaning towards the shuttle valve. Others will chime in.

Quit guessing or should I say quit throwing money at you truck till you get your codes read, it is just a big waste of your time and money.
If you go throw a panic stop at 35 MPH plus, do you feel the ABS pulsate thru the brake pedal??

Makes sense. I'll go have the codes read at lunch and throw that panic stop in there along the way. I'll post the codes. Thanks guys. I haven't been a member of this forum long, but I don't feel quite so alone in my quest to keep my Rover on the road, now!
Okay, I laid down two panic stops from the 35 - 40 mph range. The truck stopped quickly, I never heard any screeching from tires as if the brakes had simply locked up... but I felt no definite pulsating through the brake pedal, either time. I had the computer read and got the following code: P1590. I appreciate any help, guys. Thanks.
A 1590 code was read with an engine scanner, it is a rough road/ABS fault code. You need to find a shop that has a lap top type scanner, pay the big bucks, $100 plus, and have the ABS codes read. Then get back to us.
