Default Driveshaft Question

95 D1. Lifted with HD TF +2" kit.

I'm pretty sure it raised it over 2" since I have no weight in the vehicle. Do you guys recommend just getting DC U-Joints installed or just upgrade both shafts? The reason I am asking is because on great inclines I hear this crazy noise and feel a thudding from the floor panel. Assuming it's the shafts.

I didn't change the front shaft, only the rear. It feels the same before and after.

Whats the part number for the DC?

1-0005?

Or did you mean buy a DC shaft for the front and replace the rear u-joints haha

You probably don't need a new front shaft but the economical way to do it is to buy a used d2 and rebuild it with greasable joints

Buy a used D2 drive shaft. What part number goes to a D2 drive shaft? I can't use those same u-joints on a D1 shaft?

U joints are the same. Precision 744 I think. Look in the tech section at drive shaft rebuild. You will need a d2 transfer case output flange though.

The D2 front axle shaft has a double cardan, wich will clear up your drive angle issue, i also used the camber correcting bushings for the radius arms. I had sever vibration before i changed those two items, now she smooth as silk.

Doesn't a 95 have the rubber coupler at the back diff instead of a u joint? If so get a newer d1 rear shaft with the pinion flange from the diff for u joint, and drive shafts you put in should be rebuilt with new u joints, when they go it is not pretty sometimes
