Default question about driveshaft

Hello all! I am new here, but I have had my Disco for 6 years now. It's a 2000. I just had a question, I have to replace my front driveshaft and I was wondering if any of you would recommend replacing it with a used part to save on cost?

why do you have to replace the driveshaft? just take it to a driveshaft specialist and have them rebuild it.

I would avoid used parts in this area. The original U-joints and double cardon joint on the factoryshaft are not greasable, which is why they fail. A good driveline shop will rebuild yours for $350 +- with superior, greasable parts.

This is a known issue on the Land Rover Discovery II and what I'm recommending is the proper fix.

Cheers,
Dave
