Default EBC Slotted Brake install- clicking/tapping noise

So I recently installed new EBC slotted brake rotors and some akebono brake pads on the rear wheels of my disco. During the process I also replaced the hub seals as well. The vehicle is stopping great now, and I was able to clean all of the grease that leaked all over my back hub from the previous hub seals.

The only problem now is there seems to be a tapping/clicking noise coming from the back right side of the vehicle while driving. This noise only seems to be happening at low speeds, and is amplified while making sharp right hand turns. Is it the slotted brakes or something else?

Any thoughts?

The downside of the slotted brakes is that debris ha a place to get "captured" or lodged.

Did you properly repack/replace the wheel bearings? How did you torque the locknuts? If they are too tight, you get funky results as well.

Does it go away when you brake? Sounds like brake pad chatter. Did you bed the pads in properly?

Run it up to about 100mph and slam them on good and hard!

See what it does.

I do this about 20 times

Then if they still make noise you can go to auto parts store and get some stuff for back of pads.

I like to see what kind of tracks it leaves on the road. I had to slam on my brakes at about 100 in my Volvo 240 one time and it cocked just slightly and lid four parallel stripes for quite a distance.

I did an emergcy stop in my 280ZX and it squatted down and stopped so quick that a cloud of dense black smoke rolled past me. That was a trip. When the smoke cleared I was eye to eye with an old couple in a Towncar that made a left in front of me then quickly cut back to the right. My bumper was a couple of inches from impacting them broadside in the wife's lap.

Have not had to lock em down hard in the Rover yet.
