Default Electrical cutout - now every morning!

In the morning I put the key in the switch and turn, the electrics start up as normal for half a second and then everything goes dead. I open the bonnet and remove the positive terminal on the battery, put it back on again, get back in the truck and drive off.

This has happened daily since Sunday, and coincides with the battery in my key fob (which I rarely use) dying, so I am wondering if it has to do with the immobiliser - there is no red key illuminated on the display though. And I haven't had the truck long so that may be a coincidence. On Sunday morning it started fine, made a journey and when I got out I locked the doors with the two-button fob. Returning to the vehicle the buttons wouldn't work straight away and I may have pressed both a few times to get it to open. I immediately had no electrics. Luckily I thought to check the battery connections which led to the solution.

Throughout the day, there are no issues, but by morning the fault has returned.

Anything obvious spring to mind? the battery is in good order, fuses checked. I've heard the alarms are a constant headache and would like to remove or bypass mine completely.
