Electrical problems
So my alternator shorted out and blew the 100A alternator fuse. After replacing them both I had no turn signals. replacing the bulbs fixed the front and side blinkers, yet no good for rear. And by inside light by the jump seat no longer works. But rear brakes, running lights and marker lamps work. Headlights work and dash lights work. I saw a few posts about the light stalk switch and wondered if there is a large consensus that this could be the issue? It will have to wait until tomorrow because ran out of daylight but this is my family car so gotta get it fixed soon, among other things that happened to it this weekend. Bad bad week for Roxanne.
So I pulled the signal switch. Cleaned it up but it wasn't very dirty. Also pulled the glove box light and checked it. So far no luck. I am really starting to worry this is gonna be a lot of tracing. If I hit a little mud and water, very minimal amount, is there a gremlin related to that? My confusion come from the fact that all other lights back there work just fine. Any suggestions at all?
So I figured out the problem with the TS. Ready?......................I was looking at the wrong bulbs! Don't I feel dumb. So I kept looking at the taillights instead of the TS lamps mounted in the bumper. Once I found my mistake (after carefully reading a post by a fellow forum member, thank you!) I was able to replace the passenger side bulb and good to go. However, I also found another issue. Previous owner had cut the resonator off and cut under the body. Heat from the exhaust has melted the socket mount for the DS TS bulb and I cant get it out, plus its started to melt the wiring. So now I gotta drop the dough that I don't have to get the damn exhaust fixed AND find a TS lamp at the junkyard. Luckily there's about 50 junk yards in Houston. One problem right after another with my Disco. But I love her!
