Default Intermittent electrical problems when starting my 98 Disco

On several occasions after starting the car I noticed that the radio, windows and electric side view mirrors will not work (there may be more not working but that’s all I noticed). If I shut off the car and start it again everything returns to normal – every time.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas of what could be causing this?

Thanks

Default RE: Intermittent electrical problems when starting my 98 Disco

Next time it happens---with the vehicle running---wiggle the key a bit back and forth (just a light touch). If power is restored the problem is the electrical portion of the ignition switch. This part is available through my web site, and is a common failure on Disco's we see al ot at the service shop next door.
