search and you will find where people have done it in situ. Atlantic British, British Pacific, other on-line sites.

to be fair when i redid the pan gasket on mine i bought the cork gasket and did a layer of "right stuff" on either side of it before putting everything back together... but i would imagine you could run a nice bead of that (as long as you did a circle around each bolt hole) and not have issues. cork gaskets are junk anyway, but i happened to have ordered that one already before i realized it was cork so i figured id use it

that right stuff is pretty amazing...

as an alternative - i just did this a few days ago on the rolls and it seems to be holding up well - you could put this stuff on either side of the gasket before reinstalling if youre anti-RTV (as i know some people are). as a bonus, it smells like something edible so thats a nice touch while youre underneath your truck hah

I have not seen any of that Permatex in the Aviation grade, where did you get that?

I ordered on from AB and it is cork. Anybody got a reccomendation for Valve Cover Gaskets? Mine has the rubber ones on it and they may be the original ones for all I know.

Yes you can change the bearings with the engine in the truck.
But why? Your engine was just rebuilt.

I just want to know. I did my oil pressure test this AM 35lbs cold idle 23-25 hot at 2000 it was 50lbs cold 45lbs hot.

At start up for the first 15-30 seconds of running its a quiet happy camper and you would not think a single thing. then you hear a faint knock that get louder and louder then it starts to fade away to a very quiet low dull knock. When engine is to temp (176-185) you cannot hear a thing. But what you do her is a very mechanical clatter etc. when you listen at the top of the engine you hear nothing until after you drive it on the highway then you hear the lifters bleeding down.....sound slike old rhodes lifters in a small block chevy.

Something is amiss. Will only make that noise once a day during an overnight cold start. after that you hear nothing.

My receipts for the rebuild have everything new as can be. Rocker arms valves crank turned 10/10 pistons coated with anti scuff low friction coating. New cam, TC, TC cover and pump, lifters springs

All 8 cylinders resleeved.

I have never heard any motor sound like this after a rebuild.

It only sounds like this once a day. its impossible to recreate unless it sets overnight.

I use wix filter 2050 gtx. even tried to use lucas oil treatment nothing works.

This motor has more power than any other Disco I have driven. make NO noise at all while driving.

I did notice that the PO had an aftermarket cat on the drivers side and it heats up real fast, faster than the other side.

I hate noisy engines. there is no need for them.
