The best thing is to find someone with an oxy-acetylene torch, heat the area around the studs and they will come out easily with a vice grips if you have something to grab onto. Replace all 3 at the same time. Personally, I wouldn't put any anti-seize on the stud threads in the manifold. You WANT them to rust in place so you don't have to go under the vehicle every week and re-tighten the studs because the exhaust starts leaking again. At this point it's highly unlikely you'll ever need to replace them again. But DO use brass nuts if you can find them. Then you won't have any problem in the future removing the exhaust bolts.

If you break an easy-out off into a hole, hit it with an oxy-acetylene torch. When I've done it in the past, the very hard and brittle metal of the easy-out will literally spark like a kids sparkler until there's nothing left. Don't know if they're all like that, but mine were. Good luck..

Unless its the blind tapped stud, I've had good luck drilling out the stud and using a nut/bolt in its place.

Yeah, that's what i was originally thinking of. Although using a torch sounds promising it might be more practical to drill a hole and put a stud with a nut on each end.

One more thing, brother.

Jeeps are not exactly popular around here, lets get a pic of that Rover in there.

Lol it was the only picture that I had, when I went to moab my family and I family rented a jeep. I might take a picture of the rover when I go offroading (leagaly) in Florida (where I live).

you're not gonna like this...but while it's off....DO THEM ALL......from the voice of experience....been down this path a few times and usually one or more of the others will break when you put it back together....good luck

oh I didn't even think about that. Thanks, I am buying a six new studs and nuts (3 of each on each side). So I might as well replace them all before those old rusty, crusty exhaust flange studs break.
