Is there any reason NOT to terminate it right after the muffler and turn it down underneath of the car? Are there vapor/carbon monoxide issues? If not I'll just stop it right at the back of the muffler. Wouldn't that help

You want the exhaust to not be vented under the car, but out the back or side of the car. So you could have it turned out before the rear wheel...

That's probably what I'll do. Rock a side pipe. Should I get a heat shield for it too like those sweet old sting ray 'vette's? (kidding)

They wont need dimensions, etc.
The RAVE wont list them because they want you to buy a new Rover exhaust which is made to fit your truck.
The muffler shop will make the bends just fine, they know what their doing, thats the difference between DIY and people who do it for a living, they know exactly what their doing and how to do it and do it well.
Dont dump the exhaust out under the truck, run it all the way back.
Its only going to be a few extra feet of pipe and a bend or two.

Here is what they will do, they will take a 8ft piece of pipe and start bending it to make it fit and then cut off the extra.
They will then weld on hangers and bolt it all together, done deal.

Got my first estimate this am. The guy said because the resonator and the part of the exhaust that goes over the axel are already missing he'd have to free bend it so he quoted me two ways.
1) terminated before the wheel well, right at the back of the door-he said if I did this it'd have to be labeled as "off road use only" because all exhaust work has to clear all opening windows. But that most people would pass me. plus, I've got a guy that'll sticker me no problem. With a muffler $270
2) run the right way up and over the axel free bent out the back. With a can $430
These seem kind of steep but he's not JUST an exhaust shop. I'm holing to get another quote from an exhaust shop this week for hopefully cheaper. Did anybody check that link in my last post? Is that legit? Magnaflows for under $100?
