If he's gonna weld it at the flange by the y pipe should I do my trans filter first so I don't have any problems with the welded exhaust when I go to do it later after the guy welds my muffler in permanently?

Yes I would do the trans filter before everything gets welded up.

Really want to have this Exhaust done. But not at the cost of dropping a trans later. Trans filter Sunday. Exhaust next week.

Just got the truck back. Sounds RIDICULOUS. really loud. Here are my thoughts. The bead up front on the muffler inlet is great. The rest...well, you get what you pay for. The setup cost me 225$ and that's the lowest I could get anyone. It's ugly as sin but it works. Video and sound tonight when I get home.
Quick question. We re-used the bend section that goes over the axel. But it's showing really bad signs of rust. I'll scrape it down but what can I put on it to slow/stop the rusting process?

Buy some fire place paint in a rattle can, wire brush the rust off and then spray it once its cooled off, let dry, repeat.
Hi-temp engine paint might work as well but the fire pl;ace paint is good upto 1200*F.

Are you sure its the exhaust thats loud and not the muffler? Those turbo mufflers are loud.

Oh no no no. Haha. It's definitely the muffler. It's ridiculously loud in like an intended type of way. There's no sound coming from the exhaust other than the note. I just had a secondary question of "how do I stop this rust from eating my gorgeous new exhaust job" haha. I'm sorry I didn't post the vid. I've been really busy. Either tonight or tomorrow though. The note outside the truck is awesome. Inside it can be a little loud just though certain parts of the torque band. On the whole I love it.

I remember my chevy window van with the 283 between the seats. I put the Thrush Cherry Bombs on that split exhaust.

With all that welding, I hope it lasts or you get a torch or good demo saw or cut-off wheel, you may need all of those to get that off one day.

Let us know how the painting goes.
