Default Extended travel shocks on stock springs?

So I bought my disco last week. It's got 200k and is pretty tired all around, I have lots of plans to work on it. The other day I crawled under there and discovered that the front shocks were in dangerously bad shape, enough so that I don't feel comfortable driving it. Obviously this is the number 1 priority for me to replace, but I'm also wanting a 2" lift. So, I don't want to spend money on OEM shocks just to get it driving when I'll replace them with Terrafirmas in a month when I lift it.

My question is, can I go ahead and install the extended travel shocks at stock height just to get it back on the road in the meantime?

Thanks!

Depending on how long of shocks you go(how short they are when fully compressed) you should be fine as long as you limit large bumps or off roading.

Just careful if you flex out. Your spring can pop out of the perch. Ask me how know.
