a few question 98 disco
The replacement of the switch DOES NOT REQUIRE REMOVAL OF THE STEERING WHEEL OR COLUMN.
It is pretty simple. Remove the plastic shroud from around the ignition switch.
Crank the steering wheel hard to the siode to get the inner part of the wheel of your way so you can see the 4 small phillips head screws that hold the switch in.
After you remove the screws, it take some finger strength or a small flat blade screwdriver to help ease the part out of where it sits. You have to pull it straigh out from where it sits, it is not real easy, it does not release easily, but it does come out with a little convincing. And since you are replacing it, you do not have to be that gentle with the old one.
