Default Front drive shaft rubbing on sway bar

All,

I recently finished up my 3" lift and had been driving my disco without issue until I put the castor corrected radius arms in over the long weekend. When I pulled the rig out of the garage, there was a timed thump that increased in frequency as I accelerated. I parked the vehicle to prevent any potential damage and checked the vehicle and noticed that the driveshaft appeared to be barely touching the sway bar.

I have found a few threads on this forum, some folks say it is normal and others say it is not. Can anyone confirm? I also saw reference to a sway bar drop kit from Toddco suspensions. Do folks have experience with this? it is only $35 so small change to prevent damage to my new Heavy Duty Double Cardon driveshaft.

Thanks in advance.

Lose the front swaybar. They're over rated anyways.

Thanks Fish! I might consider it if I didn't have to drive a few hours to the trails.

I've been sans sway bars for two years. 23 hours back from Moab, 8 hrs to the Wilds, 10 hours to Kentucky, many 4 hour trips to Wisconsin and Badlands in Indiana. Not a big deal really. Everyone says "oh my God, I can't drive without sway bars!!!". If I recall correctly RRC's didn't even come with sway bars. If you have a 3" lift your springs are most likely HD and will help with the little extra body roll. Its really not a big deal. Even my wife can drive my truck without crying.

I drove mine without sways on both stock and HD suspension for months with no concerns.

Thanks guys! Glad to hear this may not be as unsafe as I thought. I still ordered the ToddCo sway bar drop kit. It was $35, so I'll start with that. If I am not satisfied, I'll remove the sway bar.
