you used the exhaust manifold gaskets as shims? to shim what?

 

he means they stack to be used like shims , not sure why you would need to shim a exhaust manifold

i use the stackables and have never had a leak, if you peeled them apart just re stack them its not a big deal, you just need to know how many go to a stack

 

I'll call Atlantic British and ask them how they originally came. I was checking things out last night, and I started cleaning the manifold surfaces. Where the gaskets go on, the surface seems rusty hard. I used a flat metal chisel to scrape one opening clean. Do the surfaces have to be shiny metal?
