Fuel pump for a 1996 Disco 2

I do realize that a high performance pump cannot overcome a regulator or fuel lines BUT there are some vehicles that come with inadequate pumps that cannot provide the required pressure.

Someone claiming to know rovers said this was an issue with D1s. I was just searching for clarification.

I think he was saying ignore the person telling you to put a hi-po pump in, not ignore you.

the only fuel pump you should consider putting in a 96 DI is a ProLine from Rovers North for 100 bucks. It i an exact drop-in replacement for the LR original. Mine is working fine and has been for three years.

For up to VIN VA546029, if it's just the fuel pump, you can use a Delco EP241 or equivalent. Around $50.

Default Where is the pump located?

So where is the pump located? is it in the tank? Did Land Rover make them easy to get to or is it a major project?

It's in the tank, as is common on EFI engines.
It's not too hard to get to.
You have to remove the pump assembly and take out the pump. There's a tech on discoweb.org for replacing the pump.

E3240 (listed as for the 3.9):
- Gallons per hour: 40
- PSI shut off: 65-95
- Type: Rollervane
- Volts: 12

E3270 (listed as for the 4.0):
- Gallons per hour: 50-60
- PSI shut off: 80-90
- Type Rollervane
- Volts 12

The cases and wiring are the same for both.

For people with non-AEL engines it looks like the Delco EP241 has come down in price.
$65 with free shipping from Amazon, worth it to have a spare IMO.

On mine, the top of the fuel pump assembly had a nasty crack develop in the plastic. A new fuel pump assembly was the only option. If someone wants just the pump, I have the old one from mine sitting on the shelf.

I prefer the complete new assembly over just replacing the actual pump.

That's fine if a person wants to do that, but people need to know it's not really necessary.

Sorry. I meant to say ignore the suggestion to get a performance pump, not to ignore you.
