If fuse #1 on the upper satellite is installed, I get no crank. If I take it out, I get crank and start. If I put it back in, I cannot shift the transfercase from low to high or high to low, but only into t/case neutral or back to where it was.

Because of this, I tend to just leave the fuse out. But there are some things that behave strangely when the fuse is out. If I shift into transmission neutral, I get a relay clicking on and off repeatedly. Besides that, I think there is something else that doesn't work, but I can't remember what at the moment.

Instead of pulling and re-inserting the fuse each time I want to start or shift the t/case, I thought I would install a switch to open the circuit whenever I want to start or shift. I also thought I could use a normally-closed relay that would open only when I activate the starter switch. That would make it so I don't need to use the switch to start, but would still need it to shift the t/case.

Unfortunately, I don't really understand the circuit for fuse #1/satellite 1. I understand it's the anti-theft alarm circuit. That stuff is a mystery to me. I just want this thing to work and don't have much appreciation for a system that makes it not work in any way for whatever perceived benefit.

Does anyone know how this circuit works?
