This is an interesting mod, not sure it's ready to be Sticky in the Tech section, though. Seems to be more a work in progress at this point than a proven mod.

Yep, when the right GM donor radiator is finally picked it should have a "short" write up then gummed to the list. If I had to read (again) from the beginning I'd fall asleep.

In answer to an earlier question posed by Rear Admiral USNO ---- Did you blow Bubbles when you were young?

IDK but a fair number of D2 owners have added those absent coolers.

I'll take a stab at it by saying the cooling capacity probably isn't up to cooling all three in one container, overburden the radiator/pump capacity. I'm sure the engineers could fill in the blanks. As it is the temps are right at the pass/fail mark with a D1, probably fail in the later. Look where they're mounted, up high where the radiators hottest coolant enters..... that tells me they didn't want to block the bottom where the coolant is cooler......

I added the external oil cooler & thermostat in line.. works like a charm so far.

I have a bunch of pics to do a writeup with, just need to get the right radiator.

The latest USNavy found is an option, in a normal persons vehicle it would sit a bit higher than that shows (since he dimpled the frame to make room). But the one I used is much higher than that and aside from the sunlight in my hood, fits pretty darn well

@ihscouts that makes a lot of sense

Point of interest for anyone looking to add in an oil cooler, the flow is opposite what I expected... hot goes in the bottom, and "cold" comes out the top

Rave shows this, but I had not expected that to be the case when I was hooking up the oil thermostat

you want that in any external cooler... otherwise the fluid will just "drop" through the cooler and not lose heat.

if i go back to the jy and that 1996 rr is there i may take the coolers off it and stop using the coolers in my rad, need to see how that system is realy setup, there is also the option of grab a setup from a d2 or at least the coolers
