Default guess the alternator is bad too...

Okay, was trying to find my overheating issue (in another post) and mentioned I was only getting about 12.5 volts through my volt meter at idle. Will went out today to check the voltage at the battery instead of the cigarette lighter & the alternator's a bit noisy, so I guess it too is on it's way out. See them on ebay for about $140.00 & AutoZone for $185.00. However, the different Land Rover suppliers are $325.00 plus for a reman (all for 100 amps). Are they all about the same or is there a preferred replacement on the forum?? I tried to find a preferred name by doing a search, but really didn't find anything for a D-1.

I think the usual recommendation is buy the lifetime one from autozone or similar, they are a crap French one I have had mine go 2 or 3 times in the past 2 years?
