yes good point on the tranny fluid. That was right there. Hope you're right. And yes, this was all Valvoline, but you probably figured i didn't do this myself by now. I watched him use that transmission machine suck it out and put it back. Looked pretty clean to me.
I'll run it in the driveway tomorrow for 20 or 30 minutes and see what happens. How bad can it get right? POS truck lol! I'll check back here tomorrow with the report. thx.

Good news probably.. Ran it for a good hour this afternoon. No white smoke out of the exhaust today. It was still puffing smoke out of the engine bay after 30 minutes, but by 60 minutes it was gone save a few puffs every 5 minutes or so. I'll keep my eye on it for the next week or so. Thanks everyone for patience and more than i ever cared to know about engine oil..
(My Dad was a engineer that specialized in lubricants, designed and built oil manufacturing plants like Amzoil up in Superior WI.. I tried really hard to ignore him. Turned out it worked..)

I have no idea why yours only takes 5, unless your dip stick is the wrong one?
What does your owners manual say?
