Default Had some fun going up to Bill Moore lake

Went up on my first trip with my local 4x4 club. Here are some pics:

Let me explain this next one. I did not RTFM and did not realize you have to shift the diff to the left to actually lock the CDL. I, my friends am a idiot! Thanks to my new friend's help I was towed up this rather loose gravel hill in AWD lo. This will not be happening again!

Next time you go up, turn right at the intersection and go run the Hilton Loop, with the CDL engaged, you will have some fun up there also.

Toward the top of the hill, you must either turn left to go to the lake or right to go to the Hilton Loop. Just you know, it is a harder trail, but fun and can also be reached off the 70 by going up Red Elephant trail.

We split up going back down. Decided my tires were not good enough for Red Elephant. About 3/4 of the group did the mill creek red elephant loop and 2 of us with so so tires headed back down. Great fun though! Thinking of doing ptarmigan pass with a couple off shoots this weekend with the new tires. Have a run to barbour creek, devils head on the 18th as our club adopted this trail to clean up every year. Also there is a run up Kingston peak, johnny park possibly in October. That is why I joined this group, always planning runs and actually showing up to do them.

I am hoping to redo Bill moore and hit up hilton next spring/summer.

Man, I'm jealous. Here's my old Jeep against the backdrop of the roughest terrain that I know of anywhere nearby (1.5 hours away).

Great pictures! I like seeing wheeling pictures with a diverse group of vehicles including LRs. Was that with the FrontRange4x4 club? Looks like a good club.

Bill Moore Lake was the first trail I ran with Disco Mike. Since then I've run that trail many times and always enjoy it. It's a great trail for getting off road without getting too crazy difficult. An excellent place to kill a day.
