??????
He means increase the stroke. That's the difference between a 4.0 and a 4.6. More powerful setup.

I'm not sure what all would have to be swapped but the rods or the crank, or both, for sure. Cam is the same... Wow what a great idea! . X2 for 4.6.

Need 4.6 crank and rods, your choice for can, 4.6 cam 5* more lift/duration

I did just crank rods makes difference

Oh and Volvo injectors

Oh yeah, nice looking engine...... Too bad we can't leave the trumpets uncovered, actually looks like it's got some guts. Looks like an old fuelie......
I had an extension with a socket on the end finger tightening the lower plenum and while moving over the trumpet the damn thing just fell off and dropped all the way down to the head. I take a lot of time torquing things right so pulling the intake again just pisses me off. Not really a big deal but just annoying.

Not interested in changing out the lower part of the engine but might think of doing it to my spare engine.

Thanks, It definitely looks better without the upper plenum.

I probably could have been done tonight if it wasn't for that damn socket. I wasted a bunch of time getting a magnet and trying to retrieve it. Sometimes you just have to throw your hands up and walk away before you smash something.

Idk, but the 4.0 and 4.6 stock can are different, 4.6 more lift more duration

The Volvo injectors give smoother throttle

Well back at it after a big car meet (Blue Ridge Gathering) last weekend. Had a blast!

Took the intake back off to retrieve the socket I dropped into the engine.

Tomorrow I'll get up early to finish this bitch.

Well I cant believe this but now the drivers side exhaust manifold will not bolt up! It doesn't fit anymore. WTF?!?!? Could the head have been so warped that the bolt holes have moved? I've tried two manifolds and nether will bolt up. Only thing I can think to do is drill the manifold holes out more to try and make them fit.
